With full in-house precision electrical steel slitting capabilities, UPG Electrical is able to source electrical steel from steel mills globally and bring master coils of steel directly into the facility for slitting and processing. Since we produce over 700 different products for our customers with a wide range of slit widths, we are able to nest the best widths together to optimize and maximize the utilization of the master coil, saving overall material costs for our customers.

Even though we process a very high volume of electrical steel, we maintain traceability of all material, back to each mill by heat lot and specific coil. Based on specific product gauge, grade, core loss, and permeability requirements, we correlate the optimum electrical steel grade to ensure the highest performance at the best pricing.
