Stamping - Punch Press Set-Up - 2nd Shift

Location: Monroe, WI

The Stamping Punch Press Set-Up position will set-up and monitor the stamping punch press during operations to ensure equipment is running in proper fashion. He/she will perform inspections for quality.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Set-up press and peripheral equipment in order to run product according to the die set-up sheet. This involves breaking down equipment from the previous job.
  • Know production schedule for production and changeovers. 
  • Continually monitor the presses that are running throughout the shift, ensuring that they are running without requiring set-up maintenance. 
  • Ensure that the die is ready prior to changing over to it. Review the Die Maintenance card for die identification status. 
  • For all changeovers, fill out the Die/Press set-up sheets. 
  • Make sure scrap chutes are in proper location. Ensure that all proper measuring equipment is at press (bow gages, leg length gages, etc.). 
  • Ensure that the proper prints and press sheets are posted at each press. At changeovers, remove the old sheets and replace them with the correct new ones. Operator ready. 
  • Validate set-up against product print.
  • Perform and document first piece inspection.
  • Make any necessary adjustments to equipment for parts that fail inspection. 
  • Make any minor repairs needed on a press during the shift. Contact Maintenance for other repairs.

  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Lift 50 pounds
  • Trouble Shooting Ability
  • Lamination Press Operator


Education and Experience

High School diploma or the equivalent


Responsibilities and Authorities

  • Carry out quality checks based on control plan / QRR requirements and determine conformance of product characteristics and process controls with respect to requirements within the scope of the QRR; and record objective evidence of that activity accurately as required.
  • Stop production in the area of operation pertaining to this job function scope in the event the process is producing nonconforming product or waste.
  • Positively control nonconforming product and alert supervision and Quality Assurance in the event nonconforming product is discovered.
  • Understand and periodically review documentation pertaining to the job function and request revision of process documentation when appropriate.
